Brand: Cricut
My Role: Paper Artist/Set Designer
Art Director: Nate Williams
Director of Photography: Cameron VanAusdal
Featured in retail displays for Michaels, JOANN, Target, and for Cricut’s website and social media.
The scene highlights different materials the machine can cut, including cardstock, felt, balsa wood, faux leather, foil, and heat transfer vinyl.
I was tasked with sketching different scenes that might best showcase Cricut’s materials and highlight the capabilities of the new machine. After exploring several concepts, we landed on the Leopard scene. The tropical backdrop provided many ways to utilize all the materials.
With the concept approved and the campaign goals in mind, I was given a lot of creative freedom to determine the look and feel of the set. I knew I wanted the leopard to be fully 3D, so I modeled it out in Blender and then created the svg cut file.
Overall, this scene was meant to inspire users and demonstrate how Cricut's products can be used in innovative ways.
